Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg has announced that they will be rolling out some HUGE changes to the Facebook News Feed Algorithm that will drastically affect businesses and media agencies with Fan pages.
Zuckerberg stated that Facebook’s focus has gone away from connecting people through meaningful interactions and they need to make it easier to see content from the people closest to you.
These Facebook news feed changes will take place in the coming months of 2018 and will no doubt come with a shock to the system. In episode 2 of Notified we discussed the ‘engagement baiting’ that Facebook are trying to eliminate.
This Facebook update will continue with that trend to try and greatly reduce the amount of content your see from businesses who are not paying to play through paid advertising on Facebook.
How the Facebook update will affect businesses remains to be seem, but we can say for sure that if you are not creating meaningful engagements for your followers in every posts, then expect to see less reach on your Facebook fan page.
